When it comes to celebrity beauty secrets, here at HHJ we wanted to use our access to the world’s most photographed femmes to give you guys some “insider trading” info!

From how to have Scar-Jo’s blemish-free skin to what makes Halle Belle’s legs cellulite-free to what Salma Hayek takes out of the fridge and puts on her hair for that movie star gloss that’s almost free!

Yes, we’re smart, successful women…but a few secret beauty tips direct from some beauty icons doesn’t hurt (and means you have more time to kick butt and kick back!)

With that in mind, each Friday we’re sharing some exclusive (and often unexpected) celeb beauty secrets direct from your fave ladies (and the occasional lad) so that you can go into the weekend feeling every bit as gorgeous as you already are.

This week we’re focusing on some rather wild but effective TIME AND BUDGET SAVING TIPS! Yay! In fact, you probably already have everything you need at home to give these a go…

We hope you enjoy, and let us know who you’d like to hear a beauty secret from and any beauty tips of your own!

Scarlett Johansson

Scar-Jo has some of the clearest skin in Hollywood…and her secret? You might be surprised! The actress shared with us that she cleanses her face with cider vinegar.

“I researched natural skincare and found that apple cider vinegar is really effective. Using it as a toner can be harsh, but if you have breakouts it can be really healing.”

Jamie King

She may be BFF’s with Taylor Swift and one of the most photographed yummy mommy’s in Hollywood, but actress Jaime King has a refreshingly no-nonseness approach to maintaining her often platinum locks.

“My husband colours my hair! Now all my friends are like, Can I come over and get my hair colored? I mean why would I want to go to a hair salon every frickin 3 weeks spent hundreds of dollars so my roots can grown out?! So literally go to a beauty supply store, buy a bottle of bleach and have someone paint it on!”

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is synonymous with fuss-free classic beauty, but when I asked the star about her secret to looking effortlessly gorgeous it was reassuring to know we can follow some of her tips without blowing the budget.

“I take a bath every night in regular epsom salts from the drug store Dr Teal’s, which is great for skin and purity of skin and relaxation to get all the energy of the day off. If you go in in the morning and have had a rough night, dunking your face in ice water is really good. There are makeup artists sometimes that have a jade face roller. If you’re really tired those are really good.”

Halle Berry

Want to have cellulite  free skin like Halle, well you could try her at home treatment that doesn’t cost much and is already in your kitchen! The Hollywood actress and former beauty queen swears by adding ground coffee to her body wash. It’s well know that caffeine and mild exfoliation helps to increase blood flow and smooth the skin…so maybe she’s onto something!

Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek knows a thing or two when it comes to glossy locks. Despite her movie star budget, she turns to her fridge for hair care treatments.

“You can put guacamole in your hair. Not with the rest of the stuff, but you can take avocado and put it in your hair. You can take, believe it or not, mayonnaise. Mayo is really good for your hair. Another thing that’s really good for very dry hair is – Are you ready for this? – egg yolk. One thing you can do to take away some of the stench is to take the skin of the egg yolk out, and put a couple of drops of lemon, but it’s still going to stink. Coconut oil! That smells good and is really good for your hair, but of course it depends on how dry your hair is. If you want shine you can rinse with apple vinegar. Apple vinegar is good for you in many different ways.”

Rachel Zoe

Bananas! I caught up with the designer in West Hollywood and even on a rare day off, Zoe was rocking her signature haute hippy waves. Any tips from the busy mother of two?

“Style hair and sleep in it! I’m not kidding, it looks relaxed and chic and it’s super easy because I don’t have much time and since I’ve had children I’ve got even less time!”

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt has made a conscious decision to step away from the spotlight for a moment to enjoy raising her two adorable kids, Autumn and Atticus. This brunette bombshell has always boasted thick shiny locks, so what’s her secret now that she doesn’t have to have her hair styled every day?

“When I’m not working I try not to blow dry my hair too much. I also put conditioning treatment into my hair and then lay out in the sun. The heat makes it penetrate nice and deeply.”
